Support Humanities Tennessee

As a donor, you will be an active partner in our mission to promote the public study of the humanities throughout the state of Tennessee. We appreciate your support!

Humanities Tennessee is funded in part by a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities. We do not receive state funds except for a small arts grant through the Tennessee Arts Commission. Community support for independent programs like the Southern Festival of Books and the Tennessee Young Writers' Workshop allows us to utilize our NEH money to develop new programs such as the Community History Development Fund.

Join the Friends of Humanities Tennessee

Making a donation to Humanities Tennessee provides important support to our programs. Friends who donate $35 or more will receive regular email updates on and the only pre-printed schedule of the Southern Festival of Books. Become a Sustaining Member

Support Humanities Tennessee by setting up a monthly donation plan to charge a monthly amount on either the 15th or the 30th of each month. Sustaining members provide a dependable stream of revenue to support the many independent programs of Humanities Tennessee. Charge as little as $5 per month or as much as $100 — call 615-770-0006 ext. 14 with your information, and keep programs like the Southern Festival of Books going strong.

Become a Patron

With a donation of $500 or more, you can become a Patron of Humanities Tennessee. As a Patron, you will receive a signed book of your choice from the list of authors attending the Festival and be invited to special Patron-only events.

Sponsor a Young Writer

Help a deserving student attend the Tennessee Young Writers' Workshop. Full tuition is $650, but donations of any amount are appreciated and applied to the Scholarship Fund. If you donate $300 or more, you will sponsor a specific student and receive a sample of her or her writing after the workshop.

Be a Corporate Partner

Corporations can support the programs of Humanities Tennessee with direct cash donations, in-kind donations or sponsorship contracts.

Corporate Patrons
Corporations who donate between $500 and $2,499 are recognized as Corporate Patrons of Humanities Tennessee. They receive special recognition on our website and in the program for the Southern Festival of Books. Donations may be designated to a specific program with benefits linked to that program.
Corporate Sponsorship
Corporate Sponsorship opportunities begin at $2,500. Sponsorship packages are flexible based on the needs of the corporate partner. Past sponsorships ranged from a Museum on Main Street tour sponsor for 18 months to an annual sponsor of the Southern Festival of Books and Young Writers' Programs.
